Using the pre-configured Tor Browser Bundle will thwart several of these threats by default.

Local storage, also dubbed DOM storage, can be disabled in your web browser preferences (often found in network/caching settings). The add-on Better Privacy also allows you to disable local storage.

You can disable local shared objects (LSO) since version 10.3 of Flash using the Local Settings Manager under the Windows Control Panel, Mac OS System Preferences, Linux KDE System Settings or Linux GNOME System Preferences.

Web beacons, when used in emails, can be disabled by turning off HTML in email and only displaying text. The add-on Ghostery will show you when websites are using beacons to track you and allows you do disable them.
