There are some basic questions we can ask and use as a helpful list for a do-it-ourself review for our old and new devices and services. The questions to start with are: is it open source or proprietary? Who owns the company and what do we know about them? What are we actually agreeing to when we accept the Terms of Service? Can we install it without giving up our personal information?
